Wanda Lea Thacker

July 12, 1944 — March 18, 2024

Wanda Lea Thacker, age 79, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024 at her home. Wanda was born on July 12, 1944 to her parents the late George Damron and Maudie Meadows Damron. She was the wife of the late Arnold Thacker, a loving mother and homemaker, and a member of the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church.
Along with her husband and parents, Wanda was preceded in death by one son, Roger Timothy Thacker, two sisters, Elouise Bevins, Vanessa Bentley, and three brothers, George Damron Jr., Jimmy Darrell Damron, and Troy Damron.
Wanda is survived by four children, Ronnie (Teresa) Thacker, Teresa (Bubby) Taylor, Carolyn (Kenny) Shadrick, Arnold "Bebo" (Kim) Thacker Jr., daughter in law, Donna Thacker, two brothers, James Damron, Gary Damron, four sisters, Margaret White, Patty Lemaster, Janice Rowe, Daphene Boyd, and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church. Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday March 22, 2024 at 1p.m. at the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church with Jimmy Dale Sanders and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery in Shelbiana.
