Virginia Sophie Conway

Virginia Sophie Conway, born on January 29, 1944, in Pike County, departed this life on February 1, 2026, at Pikeville Nursing and Rehab. 

Virginia was married to Preston "Boots" Conway, who preceded her in death, along with her parents, Robert and Velma Thacker, and siblings Mandy Lou Thacker and Emmitt Thacker. She is survived by her two sons, Mark (Mindy) Conway and Bobby Conway, and her siblings, Robert, Gary, Loretta, and Gail Thacker, and Phyllis Kendrick. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Emily Conway, Courtney Conway, and Kevin Runyon; as well as her friends at Pikeville Nursing and Rehab.

The family invites friends and loved ones to pay their respects during the visitation on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 11:00 PM, at Lucas & Son Funeral Home, located at 2931 US Highway 23 S, Pikeville, KY 41501. Special church services will be conducted Wednesday at 7 PM., with Sonny Boyd officiating. A funeral service will follow on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at the same location, with burial in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
