Virgil Maynard

Virgil Maynard, age 78, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Virgil was born on Sept. 5, 1944 to his parents the late Tennis Maynard and Eunice Hunt Maynard. He was the husband of Patty Sue Bolden Maynard, a retired coal miner, and a believer of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. Along with his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Maynard and James Maynard. Along with his wife, Virgil is survived by one son, Terry (Tracy) Maynard, Patricia (Terry) Blackburn, three sisters, Shirley Bolden, Linda Justice, Emma Lou Billiter, three grandchildren, Matthew (Brittany) Maynard, Megan (Joshua) Tackett, Tyler (Holly) Blackburn, seven great grandchildren, Lexi, Khloe, Alyssa, Haleigh, Eli, Kairi, Isaiah, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 12 Noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Leon Bolden and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Bolden Family Cemetery at Little Robinson Creek.
