Thurman Vanover

Thurman Vanover age 73, of Dorton, KY, passed away Wednesday , March 3, 2021 at the Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. Thurman was born March 3, 1948 and was the son of the late Ralph Booten and Maggie Elkins Vanover. Along with his parents, Thurman was preceded by one brother , Manford Elkins. He was the husband of Shirley Damron Vanover, was of the Baptist faith, a retired coal miner and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Along with his wife, Thurman is survived by one daughter, Lisa CampBell, one brother, William Vanover, one Grandson, Ronnie Lee Campbell and a host of loving friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6 P.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with special services beginning at 7 P.M. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12 Noon with the Hylton Freewill Baptist Ministers officiating. The burial will follow in the Vanover Family Cemetery at Shelby Gap, KY.
