Teddy Ratliff

Teddy Ratliff, Jr., aged 86, passed away peacefully at his home on April 25, 2025. He was born on February 12, 1939, in Pike County, Kentucky. Teddy lived a life dedicated to his family and community, firmly believing in hard work and service.

He retired from the Hopkins Creek Coal Company and was also a devoted member of the Bypass Church of God of the Lord Jesus. Teddy's faith was a guiding light in his life, providing him with strength and purpose.

Teddy is survived by his loving children: Sharon Carr, Diana Long, David Ratliff, Dawn Bentley, and Christopher Ratliff. He took great pride in being a father. He was also a cherished grandparent to his 11 grandchildren: Josh Carr, Kimberly Adams, Brandon Alley, Jason Alley, Whitney Bentley, Stephen Ratliff, Lindsey Ratliff, Zachary Bentley, Nicholas Bentley, and Nikki Turner. Teddy was blessed with 17 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dave Ratliff, and his mother, Leoda Ward Ratliff. Teddy also mourned the loss of his first wife, Rosalyn May Ratliff, and his second wife, Louvina Coleman Ratliff. He was further preceded in death by his siblings: James, Ocie, Gladys, Alma, and Nora Mae.

Visitation will take place on April 29 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and again on April 30 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 1 PM at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Denville Justice officiating.  Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery at Draffin.
