Sally Charles

Sally S. Charles, age 81, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Sally was born on October 31, 1941 to her parents the late Otis Gibson and Juanita Giley Gibson. She was the wife of the late Tom Hughes, a retired office manager for the City of Pikeville, and a member of the Creekside Church at Island Creek. Along with her husband and parents, Sally was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Cole, Betty Blevins, Katie Fields,and Lerie Cole. Sally is survived by one son, James B. Charles, one brother, Otis Gibson Jr., one grandchild, Kayla Charles, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 12 Noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jason Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana.
