Roger Wright

Roger Wright, age 72, of Elkhorn City, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at his residence.  He was born on June 20, 1953, the son of the late Andrew and Draxie Elkins Wright.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Denessa Collier, by a son, Dustin Wright, by a sister, Mary Wright and by a brother, Blake Wright.

Before his retirement, Roger was a coal miner and was a member of the Poor Bottom Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Kaye Bentley Wright, by two sons, Keith (Kim) Fleming and Roger Wright, by two daughters, Patricia Jones and Kassie (Randy) Newsome, By three sisters, Vivian Collins, Shirley Conley and Ocie Stanley, by 12 grandchildren, including three special grandchildren, Keshia (Kevin) Edmonds, Corey (Tierra) Ratliff and Savana (Jordan) Moore and by six great grandchildren, Kali, Maddox, Keean, Grayson, Walker and Brantley as well as numerous other family and friends that will miss him and loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, after 6 PM at the Poor Bottom Freewill Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1 PM at the Poor Bottom Freewill Baptist Church with Richard Gibson and others officiating.  Burial will follow in the Wright Family Cemetery at Poor Bottom.

Special services will be held on Friday and Saturday nights at 7 PM
