Robert Oliver

    Robert Lee Oliver, age 82, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Robert was born on Dec. 13, 1942 to his parents the late Alvin P. Oliver and Carrie Wilson Oliver.  He was retired from Inland Steel Company in Baltimore, Maryland, an auctioneer, retired Jenkins Police Officer.  He loved to travel and was a believer of the Catholic Faith.   He also served his country honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam War.

     Along with his parents, Robert was preceded in death by four brothers, Charlie, Joe. J.C., James, and two sisters, Marie and Alice.

     Robert is survived by five children, Bobby Oliver, Alvin (Deanna) Oliver, Barbara (Richie) Oliver Ray, Robert Oliver Jr., Lacinda Oliver Hicks, thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.

     Visitation will be at 6p.m. on Wednesday at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  The funeral will be Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 1 P.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Bethel Freewill Baptist Ministers officiating.  Burial will follow at the Tackett Cemetery at number 1 Burdine Hill.
