Ricky James Collins

Ricky James Collins, born on July 25, 1966, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love and family, deeply cherished by those who had the honor of knowing him.

Ricky is survived 

by his devoted wife, Mona Irene Hunt Collins, who stood by his side through every chapter of their lives together. He was a proud father to his children: James (Alexis) Tackett, Thomassenna (Terry) Duty, Aleisha Tackett, and Amanda (Justin) Hord. Each of his children will forever hold dear the lessons he imparted and the memories they created as a family. He is also survived by his bonus family, which included Charles and Connie Rowe, his bonus brothers Chuck and Derek Rowe, and his bonus sister Kimberly Thacker. Ricky is survived by his bonus grandson, Damon Bentley, and several other bonus grandchildren, Seven grandchildren: Tammy (Mikey Brizendine, Terriona Duty, Tiara Duty, Chelsea Duty, Amari Collins, Mycah Collins and Taylor Hord, as well as five great grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.

Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Bennett Collins, and his mother, Bessy Collins, both of whom instilled in him the values he carried throughout his life.

The family will receive visitors at Lucas & Son Funeral Home located at 2931 US Highway 23 S, Pikeville, KY, on Friday October 10 and Saturday October 11, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM each evening. A funeral service will take place at Creekside Church on Island Creek, Sunday October 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM with burial in the Varney Branch Cemetery located at Kimper, KY.
