Richard Baldwin Burke, Jr.

Richard Baldwin Burke, Jr., age 84, of Pikeville, KY., passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the ARH Hospital in South Williamson.  He was born on January 3, 1941, the son of the late Richard Baldwin Burke Sr. and Aliie Mae Little Burke.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, Walter, Warren, Raymond and Rodman Burke and by two sisters, Ann Massengale and Billie Miller.

Before his retirement, Richard proudly served the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Kentucky State Police Officer and was a member of the Thomas C. Cecil Lodge #375 F&AM.

Richard is survived by his wife, Josie Johnson Burke, by one son, Rockwell (Jennifer) Burke, by four grandchildren, Joshua Burke, Jacob Burke, Kayley Burke and Emily Burke, by three great grandchildren, Jaxson Burke, Jetson Burke and Lily Burke, by a special nephew, Mike Burke and his family and by a special brother-in-law, Lum Massengale.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, after 6 PM at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 PM at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Kevin Stewart officiating.  Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana.

Special services will be held on Sunday evening at 7 PM.
