Pamela Sue Adkins, age 66, of Greasy Creek, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, at Pikeville Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on December 11, 1958, in Pikeville, Kentucky, Pam was the cherished daughter of Phillip Curt Thacker and Dallis Thacker Patrick.
She was a Compensation Specialist for the Mine Safety and Health Administration and a devoted Christian.
Pamela is survived by her devoted husband, James Burlin Adkins; her loving daughters, Jamie (Nate) Justice, Amy (Kevin) Casebolt, and Drs. Katie (Mason) Johnson; her brother, Kirby Thacker; and her sister, Angela Carroll. She will be dearly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her deeply.
One of Pamela’s greatest joys in life was being “Nanny.” She leaves behind her treasured grandchildren—Mason, Greyson, Andrew, and Layne who brought endless light and laughter into her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved brother-in-law, Lloyd Carroll, and her stepfather, Russell Patrick.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation services at Lucas and Son Funeral Home on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with services following. A private burial will follow.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Pamela will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering love for her family, and the warmth she brought to everyone who knew her.
