Luther Bentley

Luther Bentley, of Pikeville, Kentucky, passed away on December 28, 2025, at the Pikeville Medical Center. Born on November 19, 1950, in Dorton, Kentucky, Luther was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.

Luther is survived by his son, Christopher "Belinda" Bentley, and his loving daughter, Jennifer "Michael" Sizemore. His legacy continues through his family, which includes his brothers, Harry "Laura" Bentley and David "Marie" Bentley; his sisters, Mary Deel, Linda Bentley, Sharlene Hamby, Sandra (Joe) Bowling, Virginia "Micki" Bond, and Sharon Belcher. He also leaves behind many dear friends and relatives who will miss him deeply. Luther will be missed by his six grandchildren, Dakota Sizemore, Austin Sizemore, Shawn Sizemore, Bradley Bentley, Alisha Bentley, and Corbin Bentley, along with five great-grandchildren, Alex, Ryan, Olivia, Ellie, and Ryker.

Luther was preceded in death by his wife, Donna "Janie" Bentley. He was also predeceased by his father, Daniel Bentley, his mother, Esta Bentley, and brothers James Bentley and Ned Bentley, as well as his great granddaughter, Ava Farrah.

A visitation will be held in Luther's honor at Lucas & Son Funeral Home, located at 2931 US Highway 23 S, Pikeville, KY 41501, on Monday, December 29 and Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Church services will be conducted Tuesday, at 7:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating his life will take place at the same location on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the R.H. Ratliff Cemetery Mausoleum.
