Lois Ray Reynolds, age 96 was born in Virgie, Kentucky on September 2, 1929, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026 at the Cabel Huntington Hospital in West Virginia. Her life, spanning nearly a century, was a testament to enduring faith and devotion to her family and community.
She was the daughter of the late David Ray and Addie Flannery Ray. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Homer P. Reynolds, whose memory she cherished throughout her life. Lois was further preceded by her sisters Hazel, Jewell, and Dorothy, and her brothers Lloyd, Boyd, and Carl.
Lois was a former cook for the Pikeville Medical Center and a believer of the Old Regular Baptist faith.
Lois’s legacy continues in the lives of her devoted children and their families. She is survived by her sons Ronald Reynolds and his wife Teresa, Edgil Reynolds and his wife Deborah, and Kent Reynolds and his wife Jimmetha. She is also survived by her loving daughters, Donisha Reynolds Schenck, Shelia Crum and her husband Tony, and Rita Newsome. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to honor and remember Lois during a visitation on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. at Lucas & Son Funeral Home . A special church service will be held at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 PM at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana, KY.
. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire and strengthen those who mourn her passing.
