Lila Sue Bentley

Lila Sue Bentley, age 82, of Pikeville, Ky, passed away on July 22, 2019, at the Pikeville Nursing and Rehab Center. Lila Sue was born in Letcher County, Ky on June 24, 1937, to her parents the late Otis B. Kelly and Claire Coleman Kelly. Lila Sue was a retired employee of the Pikeville Medical Center where she worked as a Baker for many years. Lila was a member of the Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church at Fords Branch. Lila Sue was the wife of the late Charles Kermit Bentley. Lila enjoyed cooking, quilting and spending time with her family. Lila Sue was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers,-Floyd Melvin Kelly, Otis B. Kelly, Jr.,  one sister-Verva Anne Kelly. Lila is survived by one daughter, Mary Carolyn May of Robinson Creek, Ky.; three sons, Charles D. Bentley (Pam) of Florence, S.C.; James Otis Bentley, of Tennessee Ridge, TN; Gregory Neil Bentley (Sarah) of Pikeville, Ky; one sister, Lona Gail (Cookie) Casebolt of Shelbiana, Ky.  Lila is survived by nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 24, 2019, 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Church services Wednesday and Thursday nights at 7:00 PM.  Funeral services will be Friday, July 26, 2019, 10:00 AM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery, Shelbiana, Ky.
