Leonard Hamilton

Leonard Hamilton, age 71, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at his home. Leonard was born on August 1, 1950 to his parents the late Lee Hamilton and Stella Moore Hamilton. He was the husband of the late Sandra Champagne Hamilton, retired from B.A.S.F. Chemical Company in Michigan, and a member of the Island Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with his wife and parents, Leonard was preceded in death by one son, James Hamilton, three brothers, Wendell, Gillis, and Willard Hamilton, and three sisters, Lovel Self, Geneva Hamilton, and Christine Hamilton. Leonard is survived by one daughter, Shellie (Bill) Duncan-Hamilton, two sons, Ronald D. (Kimberly) Hamilton, William Anthony Hamilton, daughter in law, Melissa Hamilton, two brothers, Hobert (Nancy) Hamilton, John Paul (Lois) Hamilton, one sister, Ivy (Larry) Compton, four grandchildren, Darrian Hamilton-Akers, Zane Hamilton, Keegan Hamilton, Hardin Hamilton, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday and Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with church services both nights at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 1p.m. at the Island Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Ray Hamilton, Kelly Slone, Ralph Slone Jr., Jerry Kidd, and others offiiciating. Burial will follow in the Hall Cemetery at Island Creek.
