Larry Compton

     Larry Compton, of Pikeville, Ky., passed away Sunday at his home on July 13, 2025.  Larry was born on September 18, 1945 making his stay on earth 79 years, 9 months, and 24 days.

     Larry was preceded in death by his parents, the late Lee and Iva West Compton.  His three brothers, Fletcher, Kenneth, and Ronnie.

     Larry is survived by his wife, Ivy Hamilton Compton, and their three children, Greg (Misty) Compton, Angela (Matthew) Carroll, Randy (Janie) Compton, three grandchildren, Sally (Austin) Damron, Larry "Bo" Justice, and Kanesha Compton.  He has five great grandchildren, Ethan, Shyla, Jordan, Harper, and Kenzie, and one great grandchild, Penelope.

     Larry served in the U,S. Army Reserves and was a retired mechanic and truck driver.  He was also a member of the Defiers Motorcycle Club.

Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 11 A.M. with John Paul Hamilton, Kelly Slone, and Roger Hicks officiating.  Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Cemetery at Prestonsburg.
