Joy Pease

Joy Pease age 89, of Ermine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at the Pikeville Nursing and Rehab facility.  Joy was born on August 21, 1934 to her parents the late Frank Holland and Minnie Phillips Holland.  She was the wife of the late Bennie Pease, a homemaker, and a member of the Mayking Baptist Church.  She was also involved in the Ermine Senior Citizens, she liked photography, pottery, and sewing.  Her and her late husband made furniture.  She also donated to PETA.

      Along with her husband and parents, Joy was preceded in death by two sons:  James Gregory Pease and Ritchie Dean Pease, and one sister, Edith Pease, and two brothers, John Ritchmond Holland and JC Holland.

     Joy is survived by two granddaughters:  Jessica (Danny Adkins) Pease, Casey Gipson, one grandson, Eric Pease, and six great grandchildren, Lexi, Jesse, Avery, Chrissy, Zach, Jennen, and a host of loving family and friends.

     Visitation will be Monday at 11 A.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home  The funeral will be Monday, January 22, 2024 at 1 P.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Neil Coleman officiating.  Burial will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Mayking.
