Josephine Taylor, a cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on March 25, 1964, Josephine lived a life filled with love and faith as a devoted follower of Christ.
Josephine was a loving wife to Howard Taylor Jr. and a proud mother to her daughters, Elizabeth Jean (Alexander) Williamson and Tamsie Eva (Wesley) Robinette. Her family was her pride and joy, and she found immense happiness in being a grandmother to her grandchildren: Ransom, Racheal, Griffin, and Jonah. Josephine's close relationships with her siblings and extended family were integral parts of her life. She is survived by her brother, Cecil Slone; her sisters, Betty Jean Hunt and Anna Slone; and several nephews and nieces: AJ (Brie) Slone (Draven, Ryker, Bronson), Belinda (Ricky) Welch, Tony (Rachel) Hunt (Gracen), Wayne (Rachal) Slone (Emmett), and Brady (Samantha) Slone. Josephine is also survived by her mother-in-law Erva Jean Fields, brother-in-law Keith Taylor and his children Natasha, Nicole, and Nathaniel Taylor.
Josephine is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Tony and Hazel Slone, and her brothers, Tommy Slone and Tony Slone, and her father-in-law Howard Taylor. They are fondly remembered by those who knew them, as they undoubtedly played significant roles in shaping the loving person Josephine became.
Visitation services to honor Josephine will be held on September 18, 2025, from 6 PM to 10 PM at Cedar Bottom Old Regular Baptist Church in Kimper, Kentucky. Special services at 7 PM will be officiated by Dan Thacker and A.B. Thacker. A funeral service to celebrate her life will take place the following day, September 19, 2025, beginning at 1 PM, also at Cedar Bottom Old Regular Baptist Church.
Josephine Taylor’s legacy lives on through her family and all who had the privilege to know her. Her faith, kindness, and enduring love will continue to inspire those left behind. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in the hearts of many.
