John Wallace Thacker

John Wallace Thacker, age 88, passed away, Monday, September 21, 2026, at his residence.  John was born on February 9, 1938, to the late Wallace and Reddie Thacker-Thacker, John was a retired Coal miner. Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Dixie Thacker, one daughter, Teresa Case, three sons, Billy Lee Thacker, Danny Gene Thacker, and Jimmy Thacker, four brothers, Tom Ferrell Thacker, Don Thacker, Phillip Thacker, Alvie G. Thacker, five sisters, Mary Lee Chaney, Tilda Thacker, Linda Alley, Didema Thacker, Nancy Jane Thacker.

John is survived by five sons, John (Greta) Thacker, Thanel (Linda) Thacker, Ricky (Norma Jean) Thacker, Gary Thacker, Bobby Thacker, one daughter in law, Diana Thacker, five grandchildren, Jason (Tiffany) Thacker, Matthew (Shone) Thacker, Lucinda (Marie) Thacker, Ella (Josephine) Thacker, and Larry (Angie) Dotson, three great grandchildren, Jayleigh Thacker, Bentley Thacker, and Abel Dotson.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 23, 2026, 6pm, at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home, Funeral service will be Thursday, September 24, 2026, 12 Pm at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home, with Neil Coleman officiating.  Burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana, Ky.
