John Leonard Bartley

August 26, 1952 — February 17, 2024

    John Leonard Bartley, age 71, passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024 at the PIkeville Medical Center.  John was  born on August 26, 1952 to his parents the late Curtis Bartley and Polly Allen Bartley.  He was the husband of Joyce Hylton Bartley, a retired coal miner, and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

     Along with his wife, John Leonard is survived by two daughters, Sheila (Randall) Smith, Vickie (Ronald) Stump, three sisters, Judy Ann Bartley Harris, Priscilla Kay Bartley Thacker, Victoria Gannon, five grandchildren, William Lee Smith, Austin John Smith, Justin Thomas Smith, Kellie Faye Whitetree, Sabrina Marie Stump, two great grandchildren, Sadie Grace Tackett, Willow La'Rayne Fleming Smith, and a host of loving family and friends.

     Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Thursday at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Mike Coleman and other Rockhouse Freewill Baptist Ministers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bartley Family Cemetery at Bad Fork of Rockhouse.
