Joey Cole

Joey Cole, age 67, of Nicholasville, formerly of Long Fork of Virgie, Ky., passed away Monday, Nov. 13, 2023 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington. He was born on January 14, 1956, the son of the late Rell and Pearl Branham Cole. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Rell Cole, Jr. and Lester Cole, along with a nephew, Travis "Bub" Tackett. Joey was a member of the Caney Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Hall Cole, by two sons, Joe Don (KaSandra) Cole and Brent (Erika) Cole, by a brother Ronnie (Eva) Cole and a sister Molly "Sissy" (Rickey) Tackett. He is also survived by five grandchildren he loved dearly, Kyndall, Mallory, Blakely, Elouise, and Joseph, and by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023 at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be held on Wednesday at 7p.m. with Logan Kiser, Chester Johnson, Barry Lucas, and Teddy Honaker officiating. The funeral will be held on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023 at 11 A.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Bill Johnson and Danny Dixon officiating. Entombment to follow in the Annie E. Young Mausoleum at Shelbiana with a special prayer by Seth Adkins.
