Jedediah “Jed” Michael Mullins, 46, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on July 16, 2025, in Lexington, Ky.
Jed was born on November 17, 1978, in Pikeville, Ky. Jed was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Patricia Ann Mullins of Pikeville, Ky.
Jed was married to the love of his life, Oleva Coleman Mullins, for 15 years. They built and shared a wonderful life together. Of everything they accomplished together, being great cat and turtle parents were at the top of his list. Jed loved Sybil, Skywalker, Shiloh, Mocha, and C.J. like his own children.
Jed was a great brother and uncle. He is survived by his older brother, Jason (Stephanie) Mullins of Richmond, Ky, and his younger sister Makayla (Jordan) Kiser of Georgetown, Ky, and one nephew, Eli Mullins of Richmond, Kentucky. He is also survived by his in-laws, Brent, Linda, Amelia, and Robert Coleman, who loved him dearly.
Jed was an avid sports fan and loved the chance to bird watch. He bled blue for his beloved Kentucky Wildcats and never missed a chance to root for the New York Yankees or Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Jed was an overall favorite: a favorite student, a favorite friend, a favorite coworker, a favorite person. He had the best sense of humor and everyone loved him. Anytime you mention Jed’s name, the words “I love him” always followed.
Even though Jed’s passing was sudden, all the time in the world couldn’t have prepared us for this loss. We will miss his jokes, his laughter, his presence. We will just miss him. We count ourselves blessed for the time we had with him here, but even forever wouldn’t have been long enough. We believe in Jesus Christ and will continue to cling to Him for strength as we navigate life without Jed.
