Jackie (Boy) Lawson, born on November 10, 1956, in Pike County, Kentucky, passed away on August 15, 2025, at Pikeville Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy filled with love for his family and commitment to his community.
Throughout his life, Jackie dedicated himself as a rock truck driver with Heavy Equipment, a role that allowed him to embody both resilience and hard work. His contributions to the industry were not only a testament to his dedication but also symbolized his character—steadfast and reliable.
Jackie was an active member of Guiding Light Freewill Baptist Church, where he found joy in serving his community, particularly through his involvement with the food pantry. His unwavering support for those in need showcased his generous spirit and his deep-rooted belief in uplifting others.
He is survived by his loving son, Travis Lawson, and his siblings: brothers, Tracy Lawson, Mickey Lawson, Roger Lawson, and Joey Lawson. Jackie’s family reflects his nurturing character, as he always cherished the moments spent with them.
Jackie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jacqueline (Jackie Girl) Lawson; as well as his father, Robert Lawson; mother, Vera Coleman Lawson; and two sisters and two brothers. The absence of these dear family members undoubtedly left a void in his heart, yet their memories remained a guiding force throughout his life.
Visitation services will be held at Lucas & Son Funeral Home in Pikeville, Kentucky. Friends and family may pay their respects on August 16, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM and again on August 17, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM. A funeral service to honor Jackie will take place on August 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at Annie E. Young Cemetery.
