Iona Keen

Iona Mae Adkins Keen, age 86, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Iona was born on Feb. 21, 1934 to her parents the late Mose Adkins and Virgie Thacker Adkins. She was the wife of the late Kermit Keen, a homemaker, and a believer of the Freewill Baptist Faith. Along with her husband and parents, Iona was preceded in death by one son, Kermit Keen Jr., and two brothers, Barry Adkins and Mose Jr. Adkins. Iona is survived by five sons, Darrell (Donna) Keen, Roger Keene, Randle Keen, Thomas Richard (Brenda) Keen, Glen Allen Keene, three daughters, Wanda Denise (Charles) Henry, Rhonda Baugus, Michelle Keene, one sister, Hattie Marie, three brothers, Larry Adkins, Jimmy Jack Adkins, Ed Adkins, thirty grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Church services will be Saturday and Sunday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Monday, Feb. 15, 2021 at 1p.m. at the Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Jimmy Jack Adkins and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
