Inous Woods Prater

Inous Woods Prater, age 93, of Shelbiana, Ky., passed away at the Pikeville Medical Center on Thursday, September 1, 2022. Inous was born in Pike County, Ky. on February 28, 1929, to her parents the late James Woods and Litha "Pinion" Woods. Inous was a homemaker and a salesperson for the R.H. Hobbs Department Store in Pikeville for many years. She was a believer of the Old Regular Baptist Faith and was the wife of the late Ike Prater. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, five sisters, one daughter, Ellen Carol Prater and one grandson, Michael Ratliff. She is survived by two daughters, Verda Prater and Barbara (Eddie) Ratliff, one granddaughter, Michelle (David) Justice, four great grandchildren, Brandon (Julie) Justice, Teia (Matt) Adkins, Kaytlen Ratliff, Haley Ratliff, five great great grandchildren, Knoxx, Ikelin, Porter, Prater, Hattie and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, September 4, 2022, 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home and Monday, September 5, 2022, services each night at 7:00 PM. Funeral will be Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Teddy Honaker and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Prater Family Cemetery on Greasy Creek, Shelbiana, KY.
