Guarn "Benny" Wellman

April 23, 1942 — March 17, 2024

Elkhorn City

     Guarn Bennett "Benny" Wellman, age 81, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Benny was born on April 23, 1942 to his parents the late Roy Wellman and Elvira Owens Wellman.  He was the husband of Juanita Anderson Wellman, a retired coal miner, and a believer of the baptist faith.
     Along with his parents, Benny was preceded in death by one grandson, Jacob Bartley.
     Along with his wife, Benny is survived by four children, Jondra (Brian) Tackett, Jerondia (Clayton) Slone, Sabrina Wellman, Seth Bennett Wellman, one sister, Ruth Dishroon, seven grandchildren, Brody Coleman, Sahara Sajan, Logan Bartley, Brissa Mullins, zack Tackett, Justin Slone, Josh Slone, and a host of loving family and friends.
    Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  The funeral will be Friday, March 22, 2024 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with James Newman and others officiating.  Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery at Draffin.
