Gerald Thomas Ray

Gerald Thomas (13-Speed) Ray, age 64, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Gerald was born on Feb. 3, 1957 to his parents the late Vernon Ray and Mary Ann Gibson Ray. He was the husband of Euna Ray, owner/operator of 13 Speed Trucking Company, and an assistant Pastor for Brushy Creek Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by one brother, Jeffrey Lee Ray, one infant sister, Verna K. Ray. Along with his wife, Gerald is survived by one son, Mathew (Diana) Ray, one daughter, Euna (Eric) Roop, one sister, Sherry (Don) Smith, three grandchildren, Emily Ann Ray, Evan Thomas Ray, James Perry Roop, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with church services at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 12 noon at the Annie E. Young Cemetery with John George Blackburn officiating.
