George David McCown

George David McCown, age 72, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Pikeville Medical Center. George was born on March 26, 1949 to his parents the late George "Fonso" McCown and Lois Jean Bartley McCown. George was the husband of Lois Ann McCown, a hard-working retired coal miner, and a believer of the Christian Faith. Along with his wife, George is survived by two sons, Edgel David McCown, George Allen (Kristy) McCown, one daughter, Tammy Deanna (Tony) May, three sisters, Nancy Slone, Julia Duty, Debbie Holbrooks, two grandchildren, McKayla Lucas, Tiffany Blackburn, two Great-Grandchildren, Zoe Blackburn, Kyson Blackburn, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Terry Gibson and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Garden.
