George Donald "Don" Varner

George Donald "Don" Varner, age 83, of Murfreesboro, Tn, passed away on June 25, 2020 at the Alive Hospice Care Center in Murfreesboro, TN. George was born in Hamilton County, Tn, on February 11,1937 to his parents the late Raymond Varner and Leutishey Welch Varner. George was the husband of Brenda Newsome Varner. George was a coal miner and of the Baptist Faith. He served his County Honorably in the United State Navy. George "Don" was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jim Varner, Dennis Varner and one sister, Louise Belcher. He is survived by his wife Brenda Newsome Varner, three sons, John Varney, his wife Becky, Jerry Varney, his wife Mechella, Scotty Varney his wife Brooke. Survived by two daughters, Angie Bowling, her husband, David, Tina Kirklen, her husband, Chris. He is survived by one sister Geraldine Keene, thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, June 28, 2020, 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Church services Sunday and Monday night at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Randy Newsome and Kevin Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Newsome Cemetery, Little Robinson Creek, Ky
