Garath Dean Thornbury

Garath (Gary) Dean Thornbury II, age 59, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023. He was born January 27, 1964 in Grundy, Va. He is the son of Gareth Dean and Beverly Thornbury. Gary leaves behind a daughter, Kalyn, one son, Sammy, and his sisters, Donna, Lori, and Diana (James) Calton. Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Francis and his nephew, Michael. He leaves behind his fiancee, Vicki Coleman and her three sons. Gary also will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of loving friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 7p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 2 P.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Chris Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana.
