Esther Lee Newsom

Esther Lee Newsom, age 81 of Virgie, Ky, passed away on August 22, 2022, at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on November 14, 1940, the daughter of the late Ulan and Margie Pearl Casebolt. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Tivis Newsom, by two brothers, Louis Casebolt and Crawford Casebolt, by four sisters, Delphia Cruz, Fayetta Thaker, and Eveyln Richardson and Inez Workman. Esther is survived by one son, Tivis Newsom, Jr. and his wife Susan, by two daughters, Tammy Caudill and her husband Ronald and Teresa Bentley and her husband Ricky, by one brother, Samuel Casebolt, by five sisters, Lillian Hampton, Frances Hampton, Lennie Mattingly, Spicy Bartley and Rosa Hall, by four grandchildren, Ronald Douglas (Chelsea) Caudill II, Wesley Adam Bentley, Esther Renee (Robert) Poulos and Sarah Elizabeth (Daniel) Chapman and one great grandchild, Ian Brooks Caudill. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, after 6 pm at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 am at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Willie Meade officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery. Special services will be held on Thursday at 7 pm.
