Ermel Rex Griffith

Ermel Rex Griffith, age 67, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Ermel was born on October 6, 1951 to his parents the late Ermel Griffith and Julia Coleman Griffith Cantrell.  He was the husband of Laura Branham Griffith, a retired self employed mechanic and coal miner.  He was a believer of the Church of God Faith and he also served his country honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam War.     Along with his wife, Ermel is survived by one son, Jamie (Rebecca) Griffith, two daughters, Michelle Griffith, Lisa (Ronald) Griffith Layne, one brother, David Griffith, five sisters, LaGonda Davis, Maye Coleman, Martha Belcher, Ruby Ramey, Becky Scott, six grandchildren, Jordan Griffith, Maddie Griffith, Cody Griffith, Hannah Griffith, Caleb Layne, Laiken Layne, one great grandchild, Paisley Wallace, and a host of loving family and friends.     Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Tuesday and Wednesday night at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Thursday at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Lloyd Holland and Dewayne Abshire officiating.  Burial will follow in the Childress Cemetery at Mouthcard.
