Emogene Chapman, age 84, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the Riverview Healthcare Center. Emogene was born on October 5, 1940 to her parents the late Charlie Bostic and Verdie Varney Bostic. She was the wife of the late Clyde Chapman, a retired retail worker for K Mart and Murphys, and a member of the Full Gospel Assembly Church at Hurricane.
Along with her husband and parents, Emogene was preceded in death by two stillborn babies, two brothers, John Robert Bostic and Chester Bostic, and two sisters: Goldie Edwards and Barbara Adkins.
Emogene is survived by five sisters, Linda Adkins, Betty Stevens, Charlene Adkins, Beulah Adkins, Sylvia May Potete, two brothers, Bruce Bostic, and Kenneth (Judy) Bostic, and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday at 5p.m. at the Owsley Church of God In Jesus Name. Church services will be Friday and Saturday night at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, June 1, 2025 at 1p.m. at the Owsley Church of God In Jesus Name with Robert Justice officiating. Burial will follow in the Bostic Cemetery at Hurricane Creek.
