Elaine Johnson

Elaine Johnson age 82, was, born on January 26, 1944 and passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026 at the Ridgeview Terrace nursing home in Rutledge , Tennessee.

 She was a proud and devoted member of New Life Baptist Church in Bean Station, Tennessee, where she found both community and spiritual strength. Her faith was a guiding light, not only for herself but for those around her.

 She is survived by her son, Henry M. Johnson, her daughters, Rose M. Johnson and Shelia Sexton, as well as seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. 

Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Maurice W. Johnson. She also mourned the loss of her father, Sam Potter, her mother, Oma Clevinger Potter, her sister, Deborah McCoin, and her brothers, Jimmy Potter, Clayton Potter, and Dorse Bentley. 

Her presence left a meaningful impression on her community and her church. Those who had the privilege of knowing Elaine remember her for her generosity, her unwavering faith, and her supportive, loving nature. She served as a role model in her church and home., 

Elaine Johnson’s legacy will continue to shine brightly in the generations she nurtured and loved. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who had the honor of knowing her.

Visitation will be August 9, 2026 from 2 PM until 4 PM at the Beefhide First Alliance Church.  Funeral Services will begin at 4 PM with Jimmy Hubbard and Rodney Bentley.  The burial will follow in the Bentley-Johnson Cemetery in Jenkins, Kentucky.
