Douglas Kendrick, age 67, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025 at the Pikeville Nursing and Rehab Center. Douglas was born on January 8, 1958 to his parents the late Franklin Pierce Kendrick and Creasie Hopkins Kendrick. He was the husband of Kathy Robinson Kendrick, a retired coal miner, and he was a believer of the Pentecostal Faith and attended Greasy Creek Church of God. Douglas loved to travel and minister, He was Pastor at Ferrells Creek Church of God for a few years and assistant Pastor at the Bypass Church of God for several years.
Along with his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by two sisters, Nada Jean Adkins and Wilma Lee Cole.
Along with his wife, Douglas is survived by one daughter, Stephanie (Brandon) Collier, one son, Johnny Douglas (Kala) Kendrick, four grandchildren, Jerry Douglas Collier, Nathan Bryan Collier, Ethan Tanner Kendrick and Hunter Phillips, five sisters, Loretta Kendrick, Audrey (Dale) McCoy, Patricia Goff, Edith Prater and Kathleen Pruitt, four brothers, Franklin (Evelyn) Kendrick, Bill Kendrick, Johnny Richard Kendrick and David (Laura) Kendrick and a host of loving friends and brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday at 6p.m. at the Greasy Creek Church of God. Church services will be Saturday and Sunday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Monday at 1p.m. at the Greasy Creek Church of God with Clinard Ratliff, Billy Ratliff, and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins Family Cemetery at Greasy Creek.
