Dorothy Hunt

Pikeville, Kentucky

Dorothy Hunt, age 83, of Pikeville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Commonwealth Senior Living Center at Cedar Bluff, VA.  She was born on October 23, 1942, the daughter of the late John Morgan and Erma Angeline Roberts Smallwood.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, John Smallwood and by her grandmother, Laura Epling Roberts.

Dorothy had been employed by Dan River Mills in Danville, VA and later in life became an avid and enthusiastic homemaker and attended the Faith First Freewill Baptist Church.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Stephen Foster Hunt, by a daughter, Tammy (Rick) Fields, by a son, Stephen Foster (Andrea) Hunt Jr. by three grandchildren, Genevieve Hunt, Lindsay Runyon and Eric Fields, by two great grandchildren, Levi Branham and Oliver Branham, by a sister-in-law that was more like a sister, Betty Smallwood and well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends that will miss her and loved her dearly.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, after 6 PM at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Wendesday at 1 PM at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Randy Bentley officiating.  Entombment will follow in the Annie E. Young Mausoleum.
