Dianna Newsome Newsom, born on August 22, 1953, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026. Throughout her life, she was a cherished member of the Pikeville community, known for her dedication, warmth, and vibrant spirit.

Dianna's educational journey was marked by notable achievements. She was a proud graduate of Betsy Layne High School, where she distinguished herself not only academically but also through her spirited involvement as a cheerleader and crowned homecoming queen. Furthering her skills, she attended Mayo Vocational School and Millard Vocational School, establishing a strong foundation for her professional career.

Professionally, Dianna devoted her talents to serving others. She held the position of Lunch Room Manager for the Pike County Board of Education, where her commitment positively impacted countless students and staff. Prior to this, she was a valued employee of Pikeville Medical Center, contributing her care and dedication to the health services of her community.

Dianna was a devoted member of the Melvin Church of Christ, a spiritual home she embraced deeply since her baptism in 1974. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, reflecting in her kindness and community engagement.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Eurlana “Lana” Beth Hall; her sons, Lloyd Keith Newsom and Russell Todd Newsom; her sister, Madlyn Spears; and her brother, Anthony Jr. “Junebug” Newsome. Dianna also leaves behind a legacy carried on by her late parents, Anthony Newsom and Elva Isaacs Newsom; her sister Deborah Raye Reynolds; and her brother Layton Newsom.

Family, friends, and loved ones will gather to honor Dianna’s memory at the visitation to be held on March 23, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 11:00 PM at Lucas & Son Funeral Home, located at 2931 US Highway 23 S, Pikeville, KY 41501. Her funeral service will follow on March 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM, taking place at Amos Newsom Cemetery, Little Robinson Creek, Robinson Creek, KY 41562, where she will be laid to rest.

Dianna Newsome Newsom’s life was a testament to compassion, dedication, and community spirit. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory be a blessing and her soul find eternal peace.
