Joe Maynard

    Dennis "Joe" Maynard, age 66, of Pikeville, Ky., passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tennessee.  Joe was born on March 26, 1959 to his parents the late Eugene and Ruth Thompson Maynard.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife Patsy Lynn Coleman Maynard.

Joe was a United States Veteran, having served as a Machine Gunner in the Marine Corp.  During his service to his country, he earned the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and the Good Conduct Medal as he progressed to Lance Corporal Rank.  Joe was honorably discharged upon returning from overseas duty.  He was a certified surface miner and a certified coal mine blaster for both Kentucky and West Virginia.  He enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities and was a member of the Calvary Bible Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sisters, Mary Coleman Stanley (Thomas), Jill Maynard Davy (Lester), his brothers, William E. Coleman (Deloris), Gary T. Maynard and David E. Maynard (Kaye), four nephews, Gregory D. Coleman (Sheilla), Douglas Coleman (Kimberly), William D. Coleman, Daniel J. Coleman (Alayna), two nieces, Kaitlyn Coleman Bishop(Joshua), Josie Coleman, two great nieces, Ella Jane Bishop, Lexi Lynn Bishop, and one great nephew, Jase Coleman Bishop.  

He is also survived by his beloved pets, Trixie, Addie, Lucy, and Kitty.

    Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Wednesday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 11 A.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Anderson and Joshua Bishop officiating.  Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park at Pikeville.
