Denise Compton

Denise Compton 56, of Pikeville, passed away Sunday, June 21 at the Pikeville Medical Center . Denise was born on August 25, 1963 to her parents the late Thurman Johnson and Janet Martin Johnson. She was the wife of Jeff Compton, a retired school teacher for the Pike County Board of Education, and a member of the Pikeville First Baptist Church. She also belonged to the Ky. Educators Association and Delta Kappa Gamma. Along with her husband, Denise is survived by one daughter, Martha Paige Browning and her husband, Blake Browning, a special aunt and uncle, Jerry and Angie Martin, special first cousin, Evan (Kristen Wade) Martin, her best friend/sister, Crystal (Larry) Stewart, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with John Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.
