David Fon Childers

 David Fon Childers, age 72, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024 at his home.  David was born on Sept. 30, 1951 to his parents, Aileen Slone Childers and the late Fon Childers.  He was the husband of Betty Kiser Childers,  owner/operator of Choo Choo Transport, his trucking company, and a member of the Ford's Branch Church of Christ.
     Along with his Father, David was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Gail Compton.
     Along with his wife and mother, David is survived by two daughters, Suzanne (Zeth) Sifers, Rachel (Ricky) Hamilton, two step children, Jondra (Creg) Johnson, Douglas (Dawn) Compton, six grandchildren, Tanner, Alexis, Chase, Arwyn, Emma, Ella, and a host of loving family and friends.
     Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  The funeral will be Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 11 A.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Willie Meade officiating.  Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana.
