Colleen Gayle Bentley

    Colleen Gayle Bentley, age 92, passed away, Sunday, August 24, 2025, at her home. She was born on May 7, 1933, the daughter of the late Jerry and Mabel Thacker.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Bentley, by two brothers, Bill Thacker and Neal Thacker and by one sister Rosemary Goff.

Before her retirement, Gayle was a dietitian assistant for Pikeville Medical Center and was of the Baptist faith.

Gayle is survived by a brother Blake Thacker and by a sister, Joy Di Pasquale, and by numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, after 6 PM at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Edgar Sanders officiating.  Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park.

Special services will be held on Wednesday evening at 7 PM.

The family would also like to thank a host of friends and neighbors, who provided love and support for Gayle.  Those include Roy and Robin Billiter, Laura Ann Young, Arkie Kinney, Susie Slone, Mitchell Thacker, George McCoy and many members of the Sutton Baptist Church.  She loved you all.
