Carol Ratliff, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away on October 14, 2025, at the Pikeville Medical Center. Born on April 20, 1945, Carol lived a life filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories until her final days.
Carol is survived by her loving son, Tim (Karen) Ratliff, and her devoted daughters, Shelia (Hobert) McCoy and Becky Childers. She was the proud grandmother of Kaila (Shane) Bartley, Klarisa (Tyler) Schneberger, Tiffany Coleman, April (Jared) Gibson, Aaron Childers, and Wesley Ratliff. Her legacy also includes her great-grandchildren, Kinzlee Coleman, Jaide Bartley, Lincoln Coleman, Daniel Gibson, Dillon Carlisle, and Baby Grayson Schneberger.
She is additionally survived by her sisters, Lois Coleman, Fern Mullins, Linda (Clinard) Ratliff, and Polly (Miles) Robinson, who will remember her vibrant spirit and unwavering support throughout their lives.
Carol is preceeded in death by her husband Julius Ratliff and her parents Victor and Alma Martin. She is also preceeded in death by her brother, Jay Martin, her sister, Edith Taylor, and her brothers-in-law, Harvey Coleman, Tony Taylor, and Bennett Mullins. She was also predeceased by her sister-in-law, Jeanette Martin.
Visitation services will be held at the Victory Temple Holiness Church, on Thursday, October 16 and Friday, 17, 2025, beginning for public at 6:00 PM on both days. Services each night lead by ministers, Clinard Ratliff, Bill Ratliff, and Jimmy Hammons. A funeral service will take place at the same location on Saturday, October 18, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM, with burial in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
Carol Ratliff will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her, as she leaves behind a rich tapestry of love and memories that will forever be cherished.
