Bernie Ratliff

Bernie Ratliff, Age 94, passed away peacefully, Saturday April 18, 2026, at Pikeville Medical Center. He was born on August 14, 1931, to the late L.E. and Flora Ratliff.  Besides his parents, Bernie was preceded in death by his loving wife Jo Wanda Childers-Ratliff, and one Grandson, Robert Adkins. He is survived by Two daughters, Beverly Owens, and Bernie Jean Justice, Seven Grandchildren, Chris (Monica) Owens, Daniel (Ruby) Adkins, Lisa Owens, Robert Adkins, Angela (Kyle) Fletcher, Heath (Sarah)Justice, and Paige Justice, Twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.

Bernie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, the Owner/Operator of Independent Explosives Company, and a member of the Marrowbone Missionary Baptist Church. Bernie will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 21, 6pm, at the Marrowbone Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral will be Wednesday, April 22, 1pm, at the Marrowbone Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Roger Johnson officiating. Buril will follow in the Johnson Memorial Gardens in Pikeville, KY.
