Arnold Belmont Johnson

Arnold Belmont Johnson, a devoted pastor who faithfully served his congregation for over half a century, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026. Born on January 20, 1935, Belmont’s life was marked by unwavering dedication to his faith and community as a member of the Energyville Freewill Baptist Church.

Throughout his more than 50 years of full-time pastoral service, Belmont touched countless lives with his wisdom, compassion, and steadfast commitment to guiding others in their spiritual journeys. His legacy is one of spiritual leadership and heartfelt service that will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.

Arnold is survived by his loving family who cherished him dearly. He leaves behind his son Phillip (Terry) Johnson, his daughters Belinda Johnson Bentley and Lucinda (Garris) Tackett, as well as his brother Ricky (Tonda) Johnson and sister Mary Smallwood. He was also a proud grandfather to Josh and his wife Crystal, Lindsey and her husband Tony, and Haleigh and her husband Landon. His great-grandchildren Emma, Garron, Caylee, Aria, Wyatt, Eli, and Reese brought joy to his later years, carrying forward his legacy of love.

Arnold was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis Miller Johnson; his parents, Troy Johnson and Lora Tackett Johnson; his siblings Brenda, Barbara, Wilma Jean, Shirley, Gary, Mike, and Roger; and his grandson Jarrod Ryan. Their memories remain forever close to his heart.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, after 6 PM at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 AM with Tony Thacker and others officiating.  Burial will follow in the Potter Cemetey at Yeager, KY. Special services will be held on Thursday night at 7 PM
