Anita Carol Justice, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on August 29, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on April 15, 1959, Anita was a cherished member of the Pikeville community, known for her unwavering kindness and dedication to her family and friends.
Anita dedicated much of her career to serving as a Cafeteria Employee at Pikeville Elementary School, where she impacted countless young lives with her warm smile and nurturing spirit. She touched the hearts of students, creating an environment that felt like home for many.
A devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Pikeville, Anita’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She actively participated in church activities, demonstrating her commitment to her beliefs and to her community through her generous spirit and willingness to help others.
Anita is survived by her loving husband, James Charles Justice, and their two daughters, Charla (Tom) Hamilton and Cassie (Chris) Owens. Her legacy will continue through her granddaughters, Cheslee Jean Owens and Cydney Elizabeth Owens, who brought her immense joy and pride.
She is also survived by her brothers: Michael (Vinetta) Hampton, Jack (Debra) Hampton, Sterling Hampton, and Clarence Hampton; and her sisters: Patricia Osborne, Dinah Brown, Teresa Roberts, and Ruby (Dale) Little.
Anita now rejoins her dearly departed parents, Chester Hampton and Thelma Wright Hampton, as well as her brother Caleb Hampton and sister Sandy Long. Although they are no longer with us, their memories will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Anita's life at a visitation held at Lucas & Son Funeral Home in Pikeville on September 1, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. A second visitation will take place at First Baptist Church, beginning on September 2, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, prior to the funeral service commencing at 1:00 PM with Matthew Bone and Bill Staggs officiating. Following the service, Anita will be laid to rest at Annie E. Young Cemetery.
Anita Carol Justice’s compassion and love for her family and community will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion that will be cherished and remembered by generations to come.
