Alvie Gene Thacker

     Alvie Gene Thacker, age 73, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Alvie was born on April 16, 1950 to his parents the late William Wallace Thacker and Reedie Thacker Thacker.  He was retired employee for the State Highway Department and a believer of the baptist faith.

     Along with his parents, Alvie was preceded in death by three brothers, Tom F. Thacker, Phillip Thacker, Don Raymond, and five sisters, Mary Chaney, Tilda Thacker, Nancy Thacker, Linda Alley, and Didema Thacker.

    Alvie is survived by one daughter, Rita Thacker, one son, Samuel Thacker, one brother, John Wallace Thacker, one grandchild, Caelyn Johnson, and a host of loving family and friends.

     Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Tuesday at 7p.m. with Teddy Honaker officiating.  Church services will be Wednesday at 7p.m. with Jimmy Jack Adkins officiating.  The funeral will be Thursday December 21, 2023 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Richard Holmes officiating.   Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
