Abram Adkins, a beloved member of the Pikeville community, passed away on December 14, 2025, at the Pikeville Medical Center. Born on May 2, 1940, to the late Thomas and Barbara Alice Blackburn Adkins, in Pikeville, Kentucky, he lived a full life that left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Abram is survived by his cherished family. He was a devoted husband to the late Barbara Jo Justice-Adkins, and father to Silas (Leshia) Adkins and a daughter-in-law, Diana Adkins. He is survived by one brother Braford Adkins, and one sister Sandra Gail Adkins-Justice. He was preceded in death by his son Scotty Adkins, his sisters Roma Birchfield, Wilma Adkins, Dallas Thacker Partrick, and Rosemary Hill, as well as his brothers Claymon Adkins, Garnie Dean Adkins, and Gary Dean Adkins.
The legacy of Abram continues through his grandchildren, Rachel Roberts, Jeremy Adkins, Seth Adkins, Andrea Adkins, Scott Adkins, Summer Adkins and Isaiah Adkins, along with ten great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride.
Funeral services for Abram will be held at Lucas & Son Funeral Home, located at 2931 US Highway 23 S, Pikeville, KY. Visitation will take place on Tuesday December 16, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with chruch service at 7:00 PM, with Greasy Creek Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating, followed by a funeral service on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with Greasy Creek Old Regular Baptist Church ministers officiating. He will then be laid to rest at Annie E. Young Cemetery, with burial commencing at 1:00 PM on the same day.
In honoring Abram’s memory, we remember a man whose love for his family and community was profound. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
