Helen Thacker

Helen Thacker, age 78, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at her daughter's residence in Lorton, VA. Mrs. Thacker was born on September 16, 1929, in Pike County, KY. and was the daughter of the late Lee and Julie (Potter) Cable. She was also preceded in death by her husband Fred Thacker, one son, Fred Thacker, Jr., one brother, Levi Cable, and one sister, Bessie Bentley. Helen was a nurse at Alexandria Hospital for over 30 years. Survivors include one daughter, Anita Bennett and her husband Paul, one son, Eddie Thacker and his wife Ruth of Hasbrough Heights, NJ, three brothers, Charles Cable and his wife Linda of West Point, GA, George Cable and his wife Rosie of Tallbottom, GA, and James Cable and his wife Darlene of Youngstown, FL, four sisters, Esther Mullins of Dorton, KY, Margie Rose and her husband Bill of Pikeville, KY, Icy Sowards of Crestwood, IL, and Avis Darnell of Lenox, IL. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Michael Thacker and his wife Erin of Wanaque, NJ, Paul Bennett and his wife Shelby of Lorton, VA, and Matthew Bennett and his wife Patti of Lorton, VA, and six great grandchildren, Jack, Grace, Faith, Kyle, Shane, and Aiden. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 31, 2008, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Cable Cemetery.
