Bethard Eugene Damron

Bethard Eugene Damron, age 73, of Little Creek Road, passed away on Friday June 20, 2008, at the U.K. Medical Center. He was born on May 3, 1935, the son of the late Okley Merle and Lilly Damron. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, James Alfred, Charlie, and Danny Damron. Bethard had worked as a coal miner for Kentland Elkhorn Coal Company. He was also a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mabel Damron, by two sons, Ronnie and wife Bertie Damron of Mooresville, NC, and Ricky and wife Lori Damron of Mooresville, NC, by three daughters, Trish and husband Joe Stewardson of Harold, KY, Teresa and husband Greg Tackett of Robinson Creek, KY, and Shell and husband Terry Thacker of Kimper, KY, by two brothers, Vernon Damron and Robert Damron, both of Buckfield, KY, by three sisters, Geraldine Blevins of Campton, KY, Ira Mae Bailey of Pikeville, KY and Peggy Rose of Pikeville, KY, and by eleven grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2008, after 6 p.m. at the Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 12 Noon, at the Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church with Monty Iverson, Vernon Damron, Buddy Carty, Kermit Wright, Kelly Slone, Teddy Honaker & others officiating. Burial will follow in the R.H. Ratliff Cemetery. Special services will be held on Sunday and Monday nights at 7 p.m.
