Billy Eugene Johnson, Sr.

Billy Eugene Johnson, Sr., age 77, of Pikeville, KY., passed away on Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was the son of the late Rush Merlyn and Datherine Mattingly Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his wife Madeline Sue Belcher Johnson, by one infrant son, one brother, Daniel Johnson, and one sister, Barbara Robinson. Billy was a retired coal miner and was a member of the Dorton United Methodist Church. He is survived by two sons, Billy Eugene (Lynn) Johnson, Jr. of Yellow Hill, KY and John David (Stephanie) Johnson of Pikeville, KY, by one brother John Edward Johnson of Newport, VA, by two sisters, Mary Alice Wallace of Dorton, KY, and Nancy Akers of Pikeville, KY., by three grandchildren, Tina Lynn Johnson May, Christy Eugena Johnson Tackett, and Alyssa Brooke Johnson, and by one great grandchild, Dalton Tackett. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008, after 6 p.m., at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at 1 p.m., at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Glen Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery. Special services will be held on Monday and Tuesday nights at 7 p.m.
